Facilities CAD Programmer

Job Description:

Leidos has multiple CAD programmer openings in Atlanta, Georgia supporting our clients in designing, creating and maintaining building and facilities drawings using AutoCAD and other drawings / illustration tools. Successful candidates must have professional knowledge in civil, interior design, mechanical, electrical, and plumping disciplines. All CAD programmers will collaborate closely with client engineers, technicians, and designers to design, create, update, and maintain accurate drawings following industry and client specific standards. The candidates will also contribute to the continuous planning and updating of floor plan usage in a proprietary system.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, create, and maintain CAD drawings covering all architecture, interiors, and building engineering disciplines for all buildings and facilities as renovation, modification, and new construction projects Conduct onsite measurement and observation to verify existing conditions if required Collaborate with customer to develop and define CAD standards for all discipline drawings Coordinate conversion of all discipline drawings to match client CAD standards as needed Maintain Facilities Management System with current and accurate CAD drawings, Masters floor plans, and space ownership designations Design, create, and update user friendly space definition floor plans (i.e. simplified drawings of building floor plans) for space planning and usage tracking/reporting Design, create and maintain campus maps, building egress route maps, evacuation plans, and assembly area maps Perform other professional assignments and system updates

Basic Qualifications

  • Certificate or Associate degree in drafting, civil engineering, construction management or closely related field
  • Two to four years of experience in civil engineering field related to designing, creating and maintaining building and facilities drawings in industry standard
  • Advanced knowledge of computer drafting technology, construction methods, construction standards and engineering design
  • Expertise and hands on experience with AutoCAD
  • Expertise and hands on experience with one or more of the following tools - BIM/Revit, ArcGIS, Photoshop, and Illustrator

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working experience at a federal agency or major coporation
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands on experience in the configuration of AutoCAD and BIM/Revit, and/or other CAD tools
