FAA Chief Inspector - Contingent upon award

*This position is contingent upon contract award.*
Summary: The FAA Chief Inspector is responsible for the inspection and determination of the airworthiness of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts in compliance with specifications and applicable government regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Oversee part installation and inspect adjustments or modifications.
• Perform preflight and post flight inspection ensuring that all inspection forms are accurately completed.
• Direct the work of other department Inspectors.
• Utilize the current maintenance management system (e.g. CALM, Quantum, etc.) to maintain aircraft forms and records.
• Provide guidance in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards and operational policies.
• Work collaboratively with Site Quality Manager to develop, implement and sustain a behavioral quality-based program
• Serve as a quality liaison with Site Quality Manager and ensure consistent practices and deliverables meet quality standards.
• Lead and guide improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and making high-value improvements across the program.
• Implement corporate-sponsored best practices for EHS and quality assurance processes; develop and utilize benchmark-based metrics, and develop & maintain reporting on these measures to ensure continuous improvement.
• Conducts audits, inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and implements corrective actions as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills:
• Proficient in the use of the current maintenance management system utilized to maintain aircraft forms and records.
• Thorough comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
• Thorough technical knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of complex electrical systems.
• A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
• Ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
• Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
Experience/Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Six (6) or more years’ experience in maintenance, modification and repair of aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components.
• Two (2) or more years experience with aircraft sheet metal repair required
• Must possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Inspector Authorization (IA) certification.
• Previous Experience inspecting assigned aircraft preferred
