Microsoft Systems Engineer

Job Description


What You’ll Get to Do:

Join our team as an Exchange Engineer who will assist with the design of the organization’s technology architecture and implementation of hardware and software infrastructure, while serving as the POC for the Exchange email infrastructure group in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) and other meetings.

  Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Planning and implementing Exchange platform upgrades and understanding the customer’s environment
  • Evaluating the current environment and support creation of a platform roadmap, analyzing systems performance and recommending corrective and preemptive actions
  • Conceptualizing, designing, and implementing solutions to problems reported or discovered
  • Continuously improving the quality of service provided by the email infrastructure
  • Delivering timely and high quality solutions to the customer’s problems and request focusing on root cause analysis, prevention, and knowledge transfer
  • Responding to the customer’s requests to correct or modify malfunctioning applications
  • Investigating issues with related applications, servers, and storage
  • Reporting to division management on status of issues, corrective action being taken, and the resolution of investigations
  • Partnering with Premier Technical Account managers to effectively manage hotites, including documented action plans and daily status updates for the customer and Microsoft management
  • Initiating and participating in triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and efficiently resolving customer problems


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must possess requisite systems experience and understanding of supporting elements of the architecture, including OS and relevant networks
  • Ability to modify standard deployment packages conforming to the unique security architecture in place
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting database availability groups
  • Must possess experience with enterprise wide applications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal management supervision
  • Ability to manage challenging technical issues by setting customer expectations, devising, and implementing action plans, and professionally communication to all parties involved
  • PowerShell v2 skills, including scripting


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Cloud experience
  • Experience with Exchange implementation(s) in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud environment
  • Experience in Microsoft Office 365

Desired Certs

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

Education:

Candidate must have one of the following:

  • 12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
  • 10 Years of job related experience and Associate’s degree
  • 8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
  • 4 Years of job related experience and Doctorate

Work Hours  Core hours: 9:30AM – 2:30PM
