What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Systems Storage Engineer. This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US EUCOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany. This position is required to travel OCONUS.
Responsible for system and hardware maintenance support for network, storage, workstation, server, and cyber tools on a geographically dispersed Enterprise network with multiple hardware platforms. Creating effective storage strategies according to commercial best practice, ensuring data storage is accessible in a controlled and secured manner. Evaluating the input and output of systems, as well as their overall architecture, to recommend improvements. Designing disaster recovery plans and enforcing backup and archive procedures. Designing and implementing solutions for data storage and maintenance. Upgrading software, applying patches, and ensuring the physical security of data. Creating specific reports and metrics for performance and data usage using office automation applications. Identify system and application needs to obtain required storage then configure the system/application to store data in the allocated space. Manage allocated storage to avoid incidents caused by lack of capacity. Make recommendations for increased storage capacity as required. Assist with creation of Disaster Recovery Plans to ensure application performance is not impacting during a DR event. Ensure that Storage Area Networks (SANs), Network Attached Storage (NASs) and associated technologies provide expected benefits (e.g., storage operations appropriately store information for later retrieval and keep such information appropriately secured). Establishes, updates, and analyzes system authentication protocols and ensures that systems are optimized and waste minimal resources. Documenting processes, procedures, upgrades and the resolution of problems. Upgrading software, monitoring performance, and evaluating trends and needs. Managing, transforming, and providing user access to large datasets. Installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining SANs, NASs, and associated technology. Administering storage networks, servers and their associated schedules. Maintain hardware maintenance equipment inventory
Provide assistance via remote access, phone, or in person. Candidates need excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as extensive experience with network hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivity. They must be customer service-oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of resources.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.
Provide infrastructure engineering designs, builds, and escalated support to services and products. Support network engineering activities that span across multiple PWS sections. Perform engineering functions found in the service design domain and provide escalated support to incident management. Support engineering efforts to design, build, test, integrate, transition, implement, document, and train when transitioned to IT Operations Management.
Additionally, the Systems Storage Engineer will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required.
