Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Support Engineer

Raytheon has a high visibility, impactful role for an energetic, creative and motivated Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional to support Raytheon’s ongoing environmental compliance and risk reduction efforts. Be the "go to" for both environmental and sustainability programs and report directly to the IDS Manager of Environmental Compliance and Sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:

Assisting national and international business locations in successfully implementing environmental compliance programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EHS requirements.

Ensuring that inspections are conducted, corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is kept.

Serving as the primary business point of contact for specific environmental compliance programs.

Serving as a point of contact for multi-media environmental compliance. Including managing air and wastewater permit compliance, overseeing solid and hazardous waste management, and completing required environmental reporting.

Interfacing with Raytheon EHS employees across the country and with regulatory agencies where required

Identifying environmental risk and completing due diligence; investigating root cause for environmental incidents

Lead the Sustainability programs for the business including Zero Waste programs.

Investigating and resolving environmental compliance questions and concerns.

Developing and implementing programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge of compliance and sustainability programs.

Auditing and evaluating current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Position requires limited travel for participation in Company seminars, EHS audits and training opportunities.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 6 years applicable experience

Must be able to travel on a limited basis for participation in Company seminars, EHS audits and training opportunities.

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of federal and international environmental regulatory requirements and auditing

Experience with environmental issues in a complex manufacturing environment

Experience with waste water treatment, hazardous waste, air, stormwater, refrigerants

Experience with sustainability programs including zero waste programs that address waste reduction, reuse and recycling

Experience with EHS Management Information Systems

Project management and execution skills

Existing security clearance

Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Required Education:

B.S. /B.A. in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or other related field.
