Entry Level Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

CACI is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical  Engineer to train into a Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Engineer.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Provide Post shakedown Availability (PSA) Hull management and planning support
  • Support development of PSA Work Packages (PSAWP), including filenames for all Government responsible work
  • Develop PSA tasking letters for review and signature by the PDHM(s). Using the Post Delivery database, and provide various reports on planned and tasked post-delivery work as requested by the PDM and PDHM(s)
  • Track work item completion through the PDA periods in each building yard and update planning statuses in the Post Delivery database after the ship’s sail-away from the new construction shipyard
  • Assist with reviewing and drafting PSA work item specifications, ECPs,PSA schedules, and POA&Ms
  • Track PSA Planning Yard Work Specification development timeline and provide metrics
  • Provide analysis of schedules and POA&Ms to the PDHM(s)

Additional Duties:

  • Provide Independent Government Estimates for new Post Delivery engineering changes and Additional Work Items (AWIs) to be accomplished during PSA on future hulls
  • Utilize the PDMS database to aid in accomplishment of these activities. Coordinate and participate in PSA planning conferences/planning reviews
  • Conduct research and ship checks to validate planned work package scope. Participate in and provide FCT and Post Repair Trial (PRT) planning functions
  • Provide on-site services in this capacity for the duration of each PSA in the ship’s homeport

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must have a 4 year Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering (or similar) degree from an Accredited College or University
  • Must have, or be able to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET clearance after hire
  • Applicant must be able to physically perform the job which requires access to U.S. Naval ships and craft
  • Applicant must be willing to travel CONUS (inside U.S.) as well as OCONUS (outside U.S) up to 25% of time
