Engineering Technician - II

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an exciting career opportunity for an Engineering Technician -II to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA and will travel to various field locations within the U.S.
The selected candidate will be a member of the Ground System Manufacturing Team. The team is responsible for the planning, detail design, build, deployment and testing of ground segments. These ground systems require integration of commercial IT equipment with military/aerospace specific weapon replaceable unit (WRAs) in a highly controlled aerospace environment.
The Engineering Technician II should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels of the organization.
Essential Functions:
  • Provides technical support and assembly labor on a variety of technical tasks.
  • May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineers to generate and redline documented procedures and troubleshoot.
  • Work closely with other Engineers and Technicians within a lab environment.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience
  • A current active Top Secret Clearance with investigation within the last 4 years
  • Willing to travel appx. 25-50% of the time within the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cable routing experience
  • Experience with building IT data center system
  • Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of Windows, Solaris, Linux, and other Oracle systems
