The GMD team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as an Engineer Systems GMD Operations or Principal Engineer Systems GMD Operations based out of Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
Under the Leadership and Guidance of the MDIOC Site Operations Manager, support Ground Based-Midcourse Defense (GMD) Operations and Sustainment (O&S) console operations by providing:
  • Technical direction, training and oversight to GMD Fire Control (GFC) and GMD Communications Network (GCN) console operators supporting 24/7 GMD Operations located at Schriever AFB, CO.
  • Support for the monitoring and real-time analysis of GFC and GCN systems. Identify impacts to operations and provide recommendations to strategic partners, customers and suppliers.
  • Support for the development, establishment, review and update of operations checklists, work instructions, standard operating procedures and Cybersecurity Tactics, Techniques & Procedures (TTPs) for console operators.
  • Execution of the training and certification program by managing, developing, and providing oversight of individual training plans processes and procedures for new hires and provide continuation and upgrade operator training.
  • Periodic analysis of current operating conditions and future operational requirements to identify potential training needs and updates to operational processes, procedures and documentations.
  • Collaboration with product developers, sustainment and subject-matter-experts in investigation, troubleshooting, analysis and reporting - of GFC and GCN system anomalies.
  • Support the scheduling, coordination and de-confliction of events with the GMD Event Coordination and Integration Center (GECIC), Test & Evaluation (T&E) and Program Protection & Security (PP&S) personnel in support of operations, test planning and Cybersecurity execution events.
  • Site Transition Director support in execution of systems & asset environment transition events.
  • Augmentation of the GFC and GCN (Long Haul Communications Systems Manager (LSM) & Network System Manager (NSM) systems if required.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
BQs for an Engineer Systems GMD Operations3 are:
  • 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited college.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Current DoD Approved 8140 (DoDD 8570) Baseline Certifications IAT Level II (i.e., CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP), IAT Level-III certification can be used to qualify for the Level-II position
  • Software and or Network communications technical experience
  • Proactive, Self- starter; ability to work effectively on a diverse team with multiple external teammates and customers
  • Ability to relay and receive information
  • Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously
BQs for a Principal Engineer Systems GMD Operationsare:
  • 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited college.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Current DoD Approved 8140 (DoDD 8570) Baseline Certifications IAT Level II (i.e., CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP), IAT Level-III certification can be used to qualify for the Level-II position
  • Software and or Network communications technical experience
  • Proactive, Self- starter; ability to work effectively on a diverse team with multiple external teammates and customers
  • Ability to relay and receive information
  • Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have for both Engineer Systems GMD Operationsor Principal Engineer Systems GMD Operations:
  • GMD experience
  • 24/7 Operations experience
  • Development and management of training processes and technical documents
  • Experience working on UNIX/Linux platforms
  • Experience working on HP OpenView and Cisco Network Systems
  • Experience with RMF fundamentals
