Engineer Software/Principal Software Engineer

The Software & Digital Technologies team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineer based out of Aurora, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

Software Engineers hired on this requisition will work on the development, integration, and maintenance of three operationally deployed systems that are the responsibility of one integrated development, test, and systems team of about two dozen staff. The selected candidate will work as a member of this medium-sized, highly skilled diverse co-located team in an agile environment and participate in systems design, code development, GUI updates, debugging, and integration and test of modifications/enhancements into the operational baselines. You will work on technical challenges and seek to provide innovative solutions, to include troubleshooting the system, implementation of new capabilities for future versions of the system, and support to test and documentation needs. The team respects flexible work schedules to balance work and personal needs. As this is a matrix organization, you will both be a part of this development team and part of a functional organization focused on software capabilities.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for Engineer Software:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 2+ years software development experience; 0 years with a Masters
Experience in C++ or Java or both
Ability to obtain Security+ within 6 months of hire, if not held now
TS/SCI clearance


Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer Software:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 5+ years software development experience; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD
Experience in C++ or Java or both
Ability to obtain Security+ within 6 months of hire, if not held now
TS/SCI clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
At least 2 years professional development experience in Python (note: in addition to C++/Java above in required section)
Active holder of Security+
Development experience using AWS and/or AWS certifications
Development experience in Web services (specifically REST)
Experience using Eclipse IDE
Experience using Git, Gitlab, or Github
Experience developing in an agile environment, on scrum or Kanban teams
Experience developing in an O&M environment
Database Development Experience
