Principal Engineer Mechanical TS/SCI

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Engineer for our Special Programs business unit in East Hartford, Connecticut.

This Engineer must have a thorough understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles, theories, and concepts, along with a basic understanding of the other engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities include providing solutions to a variety of complex technical problems as assigned. Tasks will include conceiving technical solutions, creating system models, determining and performing required analysis, including FEA, detail and assembly drawings, including parts lists, in accordance with ANSI and in house drawing standards, coordinate with Purchasing to expedite the delivery of system components, hands-on prototype assembly and writing assembly specifications.

The successful candidate must work well independently as well as in a team environment with minimal supervision. S/he may also be expected to lead/direct a team of junior engineers to meet the needs of the program(s).

Basic Qualifications:

BS in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum of 8 years experience in mechanical engineering field

Current TS clearance

Hands-on skills for assembly and testing of designs

Demonstrated leadership qualities

Good written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

MS in Mechanical Engineering

>10 yrs experience in mechanical engineering field

Experience using Solidworks
