Engineer - Logistics Supportability Analysis

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
Candidate will be responsible for Logistics Supportability Analysis (LSA) efforts and activities necessary to meet program requirements. Major responsibilities will include developing and maintaining the Logistics Control Number (LCN) system to identify LSA candidate items, generating source data for Provisioning, Technical Publications, Support Equipment, and Training. The working environment is highly dynamic, often with competing priorities and deadlines.
Candidate will analyze and interpret technical data (e.g., drawings, manuals, specifications, etc.) to develop technical and logistics data and create/update relevant reports such as task analysis, maintenance plans, or provisioning requirements reports.

Candidate will:
  • Perform/update Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA)
  • Perform/update Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Assign static part and application attributes including:
    • Source, Maintainability, and Recoverability (SMR) codes
    • Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) values
    • Logistics footprint characteristics
  • Support logistics engineering activities and assist as a technical resource from a program's concept and proposal phases through development, test, production, and post-production support phases.
  • Integrate themselves into the engineering process to influence design from inception throughout the product life cycle, focusing on supportability, maintainability, and other product support elements.
  • Develop maintenance concepts to ensure the most affordable and effective mission readiness solution.
  • Responsible for activities that sustain the operation and maintenance of systems to ensure mission readiness.
  • Be an engaged and versatile team member of the LSA and Maintainability team seeking to adhere to and improve upon existing practices.
The candidate must have strong analytical skills and knowledge of a wide array of industry tools used to conduct Logistics analysis and will provide status to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline and 2 Years of experience OR a Master's degree.
  • PC proficiency with Microsoft Windows Office Products, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation skills and ability to interface directly with internal program office and external customer is required.
  • An active in-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
  • The ability to obtain program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university
  • Two years of experience in LSA, Reliability, Maintainability or other logistics related discipline
  • Experience developing LSA products in accordance with MIL-STD-1388, GEIA-STD-0007 or MIL-PRF-49506
  • Experience with LSA database tools such as EAGLE or SLICwave is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with other logistics tools such as Vmetric, EDCAS, COMPASS, CASA, etc. is desired.
  • An understanding of repair level analysis and life cycle cost modeling is also a desired competency.
  • Experience in military maintenance and sustainment support would be considered a plus
  • Experience with CAD programs such as CATIA, TEAMCENTER
  • Previous experience using LSA data to develop either technical data, technical publications, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETMs), or training products
  • Active, In scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance
