End User Support (Sys Admin)

The systems administrator administers the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, and end-user workstation. Although the administrator is not responsible for writing new application software, the administrator demonstrates understanding of how software behaves in order to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot systems. Additionally, the administrator researches new technologies and leverages optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently. System Administrators must understand the dependencies of other technical services running in the enterprise environment (i.e., system to service dependencies). Representative technical certifications at this level may include Microsoft MCSA & MCSE: Windows Server, Linux Professional Institute Certifications, Red had Certified Engineer, VMWare Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Linux+, Linux Professional Institute Certifications, Red Hat RHCSA, RHCE & RHCA, Oracle Linux OCA & OCP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect-­ Professional, CCTP, CompTIA Cloud+, MCSE: Private Cloud, and VMWare VCP – Cloud.

Requirements: A High School diploma (or GED), and 4 years of general experience with 2 related experience in help desk ticketing software, incident troubleshooting and escalation, or using remoted desktop management tools and familiarity with ITILv3 or related service delivery frameworks. Candidate must have a DoD Secret security clearance. Candidates must have completed and be enrolled in Continuing Education (CE) with a Security+ certification or other IAT level II 8570 compliant certification or above. Candidate must have a general PC and Microsoft Office troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly converse with customers at all levels. The Service Desk professional must communicate written and/or verbal situational awareness to management and Government leadership in a concise, professional manner. Candidate must have a DoD Secret security clearance. Candidates must have completed and be enrolled in Continuing Education (CE) with a Security+ certification or other IAT level II 8570 compliant certification or above. May be required to work extended and/or non-prime hours.
Desired: Previous Service Desk experience, Active Directory, Exchange and Remedy experience. Scripting: Power Shell is a plus.
