Electronics Technician

ECS is seeking an Electronics Technician to work in our Chantilly, VA office.  

Job Description:

  • Work with bench test equipment to program, test, and troubleshoot electronic hardware and components for Radar and Flight Termination Systems
  • Integrate electronic hardware and software at the system level
  • Provide hands-on test and troubleshooting support for fielded products
  • Analyze test data, make recommendations for pass-fail and improvements to circuit performance
  • Work with engineering drawings for purposes of troubleshooting, testing, and analyzing test results
  • Work is primarily performed in an office or laboratory environment but may occasionally require work outdoors while on travel

Required Skills:

  • US Citizenship
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology with 5-10 years of experience working in an electronics laboratory environment
  • Alternately BSEE with 1-3 years’ experience working in an electronics laboratory environment
  • Experience using various types of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, signal analyzers, RF power meters, network analyzers, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret various types of engineering drawings (schematics, parts lists, assembly drawings) and knowledge of industry standard circuit schematic symbols for analog, digital and RF components
  • Experience working with hand tools on electronic and electromechanical assemblies
  • Good computer skills including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Professional and detail-oriented work ethic
  • An ability to take direction but work independently
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • May require occasional heavy lifting (< 50 lb typical)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Radar system experience
  • Electronic circuit design:  discrete logic, analog circuitry, basic RF/microwave circuits
  • Experience with EDA tools such as Mentor Graphics PADS, OrCAD, etc.
  • Soldering skills (wiring and PCB)
  • Electromechanical assembly experience
