Job Title:  Electronic Records Specialist

Description:

ALEX - Alternative Experts is now hiring an Electronic Records Specialist for an exciting opportunity in support of the defense community.  Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide recommendations that may consist of creation, design, and maintenance of web pages, workflows, sites, and solutions
  • Conduct periodic records retention maintenance of electronic systems, applications, network products and solutions, desk side assistance for content and records management applications.
  • Serve as a bridge between users and technical support to assist customers in solving complex record, document, data and information management challenges posed by movement, manipulation, archiving, and security of electronic records.
  • Provide professional management and administrative support to perform effective records management services for both classified and/or unclassified records.
  • Assist with the development and management of RIM portal sites. Provide technical guidance, advice, and assistance based upon customer policies and industry best practices.
  • Maintain the SharePoint page to include constantly revisiting and reviewing content to ensure business relevance. Customize and maintain landing page to encourage traffic and user adoption. Monitor site usage and follow up on dormancy on a regular basis. Monitor to ensure workflow and tasks are working correctly, perform ongoing research to determine SharePoint’s current and future capabilities and liaise with stakeholders regarding the migration of sites when necessary.
  • Coordinate requirements for developing RIM training materials with COR, and government leads.
  • Conduct desk-side training as required in support of RIM initiatives and mission requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for development and maintenance of RIM programs to include goals, objectives, mission, vision, and implementation plans in a RIM strategy.
  • Document and create RIM processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as assigned.
  • Identify and document processes that could be handled by capabilities and features within the ERM, ECM, etc.
  • Engage stakeholder community to ensure successful implementation and sustainment of RIM processes and procedures.
  • Perform requirements gathering, analysis, and recommendations of IT requirements change process when determined to be appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in RIM meetings, conferences, and seminars to advocate RIM processes, procedures, requirements and programs.
  • Develop customer feedback process, document feedback, recommend, and implement changes to improve customer satisfaction related to RIM activities.
  • Perform archiving duties in support of RIM requirements as per Federal Records Management instructions and guidelines. Incorporate metadata elements that must accompany transfers of permanent electronic records to the National Archives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have and be able to maintain a Secret level security clearance at minimum. A higher level clearance may be required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • 2 or more years of experience with relevant information systems and processes
  • Certification in Information System Maturity Model and ISO standards
  • Expertise in applicable statistical theories and practices
  • Experience with RIM policies, processes, best practices
  • Experience with NARA
  • Experience uploading and maintaining records and documents within a SharePoint environment
  • Experience working with DoD projects
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
