Responsibilities
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking an Electrochemical Systems Postdoctoral Research Associate.
In this position, you will perform laboratory based development of electrochemical systems. You will develop and optimize processes to convert organic chemical streams to higher value products through electrochemically hydrogenation. You will demonstrate high knowledge of chemical and electrochemical principles. You will understand concepts in electrochemical kinetics for selection and refinement of electrocatalysts. Specific experience with membrane-electrode assemblies is desired, but not essential. Specific expertise in electrochemical synthesis of organic compounds is desired, but not essential. You will utilize concepts in chemistry and/or chemical engineering to optimize process conditions. You must excel in working independently while meeting specific customer targets and needs. You will maintain currency in relevant scientific literature and participates in preparing reports, presentations, peer-reviewed publications and proposals. You will represent the laboratory and customers though program reviews and technical presentations at conferences. You will meet ES&H goals, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safe laboratory practices, and performs all work in an environmentally safe and compliant manner.
This position requires minimum of a doctorate from chemistry or a chemical engineering program.

PhD requirements in analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, or related disciplines must be completed by commencement of appointment and within the previous 5 years or will be completed within the next few months.
Demonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English).
