Northrop Grumman is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Theoretical Studies and Engineering Research (TSER) Sounding Rocket Program in Princess Anne, Maryland.
Job Duties:
Research, design and test electrical components, equipment and systems
Develop applications of controls, instruments, and systems for government and commercial sounding rocket programs; and operational procedures and practices as they apply to sub-orbital rockets
Apply comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts, procedures and practices
Analyze, design, and develop solutions to sounding rocket telemetry and power control systems
Devise appropriate test methods and documentation to evaluate debug and check electrical and electronic systems
Document the results of complex analysis and design tasks for technical reports and formal meeting presentations
Design moderately complex electronic and electrical systems; assists in developing component and TM system standards and testing/qualification techniques
Assist and direct efforts of technical support team personnel
Independently performs complex tasks
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of related electrical engineering experience OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of related electrical engineering experience OR a PhD; an additional 4 years of direct relevant experience maybe be considered in lieu of a degree requirement
Hands-on experience and operational proficiency with electronic equipment
Ordnance handling will be required after training and certification
Experience and/or training with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) micro-controllers, PIC's, EPLD, PLD's, DSP's
Capable of functioning as a payload or project team member as well as being able to work independently
A U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Programming and computer application skills such as Lab-View/Windows, C, C++, OrCad, Microsoft Office, and MATLAB are desired
Excellent computer, communication and problem solving skills
Good hands-on and troubleshooting ability and experience is also desirable
