TheElectrical Engineer will assist thecustomer with performance of electrical engineering design and productionsupport from project inception through construction

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Responsiblefor the professional quality, technical accuracy, and the coordination,including inter-discipline coordination, of all designs, drawings,specifications, and other services furnished by CWS under this contract
  • Otherduties as assigned

MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’sDegree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 5years in design and technical competence in developing and the production ofworking drawings and specifications for new and renovation projects.
  • Demonstratedexperience in Design and Contract Document preparation for new and existingbuildings similar to the building types prevalent in the NAVFAC Washington Areaof Responsibility.
  • Demonstratedexperience with interdisciplinary coordination required for Contract Documentpreparation.
  • Experienceconducting field observation to verify/obtain the existing conditions ofelectrical site work and facility systems and incorporating these conditionsinto the design for a renovation/rehabilitation project.
  • Secret Clearance required

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • Familiaritywith both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods for projects andto review other electrical engineers' work for code/criteria compliance andconstructability.
  • Abilityto estimate design effort and provide support to the negotiations effort withArchitectural-Engineering firms and General Contractors.
  • Abilityto travel
  • Beable to review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information(RFI's).
  • Aworking knowledge of ICC codes, NFPA 70 (NEC), NESC, and DoD Unified FacilitiesCriteria (UFC).
  • Demonstratedworking knowledge of current AutoCAD and other design and general officesoftware.
  • Demonstratedknowledge of specifications development and coordination, usingGovernment-based specification software

  • While performing the duties of thisJob, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb orbalance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally liftand/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision.

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
