Electrical Engineer II

The Power and Electronics Systems Department within Raytheon IDS is hiring an Electrical Engineer to work in a digital electrical engineering role which performs a wide variety of tasks including the design, development and test of PCBs/FPGAs, embedded processor designs, and COTS based systems. The engineer may perform or support requirements specification, digital design, simulation, design validation, system integration testing, and production support of digital circuits and systems. She/He should also have successfully implemented designs in fielded systems, and constructed test and integration plans. The candidate must have a proven track record of meeting system requirements, schedule deadlines, and project budgets. Responsibilities will require working within a team of engineers in developing designs based on modeling and simulations. The candidate should expect to work with Systems Engineers and other development team members in translating system performance and operational specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications. The relevant digital electronic system designs include signal processing, command and control, communications, and user interfaces for military applications.

Applicant will work as part of a highly motivated team environment, and will be collaborating with cross-functional project teams making up a larger program or internal research and development efforts. Our engineers are assigned to a manager of approximately 20 employees with similar skills. Each section manager is responsible for their members’ performance, career development, and assigning tasks that balance the employees’ interests with current needs of the project teams.

Required Skills:

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship is required

2+ years experience in one of the following areas:
  • FPGA development and/or verification skills using VHDL, System Verilog or OVM
  • Embedded Software development
Desired Skills:
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience modeling and simulating using Mentor Graphics System Vision, PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Experience using test equipment to test and verify the performance of hardware
  • Experience writing detailed verification test plans and test reports
  • Experience debugging hardware in the lab or field
  • Experience with hands on prototyping in a laboratory environment
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline
