Position Title: Electrical Engineer II E02 (CD64)

Opportunities currently exist within EDD's Test Development Department for a test equipment design engineer.The primary responsibilities will be the development and implementation of test capabilities leveraging a working knowledge of test equipment hardware and software technologies.This is an excellent position for a test equipment engineer who experience in digital test, analog test, RF test, or power supply test and a desire to apply those skills to combined hardware/software test solutions.
You will be joining a diverse project team for the design and development of test equipment and test solutions for testing radar, sonar, communication, missile, combat control systems, subsystems and components for various programs within IDS.These products can contain Analog, RF, Microwave, Acoustic, High Power, and Digital Electronic technology and can also have Software (embedded, firmware, Signal Processing, VHDL, etc.). Test Development Engineers are involved from the beginning of product design as a concurrent engineering effort, continuing into supporting engineering design verification testing, production test and final system level verification and sell-off; includes in-plant or field testing.Typical test solutions include simulation, stimulation and data acquisition capability to provide stimulus and response test environments for verifying functional performance. Typical test systems encompass Hardware In the Loop Stimulators, Custom Automatic Test Equipment, Commercial Automatic Test Equipment, Common Test Systems with automated handling capabilities, High Power, Mixed-Signal, Digital and Environmental Stress Screening systems, mechanical holding fixtures, adapters, and interface cabling and harnessing.
This position can be either a Electrical Engineer II or Senior Electrical Engineer I (Grade E02 or E03) based on candidate qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
The selected individual will be required to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance .
·B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology with 2+ years’ experience in engineering design and development environment with exposure to Test EquipmentDesign and Development tasks
·Or a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 1+ years’ experience.
