Electrical Engineer II: RF Component Engineer

We have an opportunity for a RF component engineer within the Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, Electrical Design directorate. The person in this role will work closely with the Antenna and Microwave Department which designs, develops and integrates a number of different products and technologies relative to the front end of radar systems.

The RF component Engineer will be an interface between the design engineers and the customer’s parts engineer organization. The RF Component Engineer will support a variety of program and customers and be responsible for critical supplier relationships. The individual must have knowledge of RF test procedures and be familiar with a variety or RF components. The individual will work with design engineers, test engineers, suppliers as well as factory engineers to optimize the component selection through the Parts and Materials Review Board (PMCB) both internal to Raytheon as well as with our customers. The candidate will use their knowledge of failure mechanisms and effects to aid in the root cause/corrective action in device/subassembly component related failures. Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.

Required Skills:
  • Experience in parts or component engineering (component selection, DoD parts documentation as well as broad knowledge of electrical component technologies)
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with a wide application of technical theories and concepts related to system logistics/sustainment/production activities/obsolescence/parts qualification
  • Experience in Reliability Prediction or Failure Analysis
  • Experience in preparing customer and/or management level briefings
  • Ability to understand and apply new concepts quickly, while organizing, scheduling and coordinating work phases accurately in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Experience in component/circuit design
  • Proven multi-disciplinary technical skills to engage peers and leaders across the various Cross
  • Business Teams and Integrated Business Teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build a trusting relationship with the customer
  • Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations
  • Existing Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus minimum of 2 years direct experience OR Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
