Electrical Engineer

 Position Description:

Create analog and high speed digital board level circuit designs and simulations supporting optical systems to include signal processing of analog inputs from photo-detectors to Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs), noise analysis and budget planning, and filter design and simulation
• Implement Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) devices and output drive amplifiers and filters
• Design Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) and linear current driver circuits for laser diodes
• DC-10GHz ADCs and DACs along with the high performance Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and associated circuits for Digital Signal Processor (DSP) applications
• Collaborate with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout and fabrication vendors to Insure prototype meets design intent
• Collaborate with team members to test and document the circuit design to insure program objectives are met
• Perform hardware integration with digital and optical hardware team. 
• Support compliance testing for various standards including EMI/EMC and ESD
• Create presentations for internal and external customers using software tools to analyze data and create graphics.  Present data at preliminary and critical design reviews (PDR/CDR)
• Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
• Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
• Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as required
• If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the positionMinimum Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in the design of analog front ends for ADCs and DACs
• Experience in PCB design entry and layout tools (PADs, Altium, OrCAD).
• Experience with analog and high speed digital layout techniques to minimize crosstalk, EMI, and transmission life effects
• Experience with mixed analog and digital board design and grounding strategies
• Experience with Spice simulation of analog circuits
• Demonstrated experience interfacing to FPGAs or DSPs in high-speed analog/digital control loops, including prior experience with high speed ADC and DAC conversion
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of experience or an equivalent combination of skills, education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred
