The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector is looking for you to join our team as an Electrical Engineer based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in formal engineering life-cycle processes to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Colorado Springs, Colorado location to meet challenging issues confronting national security.
Qualified individuals must be flexible, self-motivated, hardworking and capable of working on a program, as it moves through the system lifecycle phases of development, testing and deployment, while also performing sustainment and modification associated tasks on the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS), PAVE Phased Array Warning System (PAWS).
The ideal candidates should be able to work through increasingly complex problems, utilizing ingenuity, innovation, thoroughness, and practicality; and perform their work with minimal direction and oversight.
This position deals with non-commercial and commercial hardware and provides scalable solutions to critical missions and data types as required by contract requirements. Work will also include definition of system requirements, engineering trades and analyses, and verification and validation activities as directed by customer change requests and ongoing corrective actions to existing radar, data and signal processing, and user interface equipment. The preferred candidate will have experience of radar and varied computing systems, should be able to work and function in a dynamic environment where requirements can change according to the customer needs.
In addition, the candidate must be a team player, able to work comfortably and effectively with company team members as well as program stakeholders and DoD contractor senior personnel. The candidate will be required to support technical interchange meetings, on-site technical support, and event support.
Electrical Engineer's primary responsibilities include:
  • Analog to digital signal generation and conversion
  • Coaxial to fiber data processing and conversion
  • Component to system level investigation and analysis
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Waveform generation and processing for RF signals
  • RF system distribution analysis
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages, including model and simulation of existing systems
  • Perform depot level maintenance actions on assigned radar systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, periodic and corrective actions on assigned radars systems IAW with Air Force Technical Order and Depot Level procedures
  • Restore critical radar functionality
  • Support electrical modifications to existing system infrastructure
  • Evaluate designs to ensure criteria for Nuclear Survivability and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects
  • Requirements development, including decomposition, allocation, and provide recommended verification/validation methods
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into systems solutions that acknowledge technical constraints
  • Performs functional analysis, detailed studies, interface definition to translate system requirements into subsystem specifications.
  • Develop associated product lists, drawings, architectural views, models, and system documentation; documentation development plan
  • Utilizing a variety of tools to support engineering activities, routine maintenance corrective actions, hardware-related emergency/urgent maintenance and respond to anomalies
  • Validate serviceability of hardware and software at contractor and government facilities.
  • Supporting the integration, installation, test and documentation of new and/or modified capabilities into the system
  • Providing leadership and mentoring in addition to being an individual performer

Qualifications for a Level 2:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM field (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) with at least 2 years of Engineering experience. 0 years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD.
  • RF Systems experience
  • Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components
  • Active Secret clearance
Qualifications for a Level 3:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with at least 5 yearsof Engineeringexperience; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD
  • RF System experience
  • Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components
  • Active Secret clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Radars and other SIGINT Systems
  • Experience in signature integration, RF survivability design, analysis, and testing
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience documenting configurations of systems and system-of-systems
  • Excellent communications skills
