What are the primary responsibilities in the DSP System Design & Integration Engineer position?

 

Under the mentorship of one of RRC’s subject matter experts, this individual will help conceive, analyze, design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain hardware-based solutions for modern communications systems. Implementation includes system hardware design and development, hardware control, integration and test, system optimization, and deployment strategies. The right candidate will be expected to demonstrate dedication, discipline, integrity, and a team-first mentality leading to products that are well-structured, documented, and carefully tested. This position will allow for direct interaction with end users and customers. 

 

 

What required background will make you successful?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or other equivalent fields of discipline.
  • Understanding of, and 0-3 years of experience with: mechanical design, electrical board layout and design, system integration and test, thermal / heat transfer.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

 

Preferred skills:

 

  • Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering,  Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering , or other equivalent field of discipline
  • 2-4 years of direct experience with mechanical design, electrical board layout and design, system integration and test, thermal / heat transfer.
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS design tools
  • A background in DSP or in communications theory
  • Capability in scientific programming with C, C++, or similar high-level language on UNIX/Linux
  • VHDL or FPGA experience
  • X-Midas or MATLAB experience

This position is located at our Tucson, AZ office.
