Document Control Supervisor

TheDocument Control Supervisorworks at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.

The Document Control Supervisor manages a team of employees in support of publication of drawings, schematics, and repair specifications. Edits technical documents to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, select drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials. Coordinates and edits technical documents that may be originated by technical writers or other members of the contract or USPS staff. Ensures grammatical correctness, proper format, consistency of technical terminology, and clarity of presentation. Ensures document is in strict compliance with USPS document formatting requirements.. Ensures editing assignments meet contractual schedules

Attends internal technical review meetings for vendor deliverables on new system contracts. Provides information pertaining to the addition and deletion of depot repair items to the COR for approval and status to appropriate USPS program manager. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts degree in English or Journalism or associates degree in one of those disciplines or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to a B.A. based on work experience.
Minimum of three years directly related experience with a comprehensive knowledge of industry specifications and standards
Comprehensive knowledge of composition, grammar, rhetoric, editing, graphic arts, and reproduction processes plus a comprehensive knowledge of technical terminology
Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory role
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Sensitive Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with test repair methodologies
Familiarity with AUTOCAD, AUTODESK, or Inventor software
Proficient project management skills
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Lean Six Sigma trained or certified
ISO 9001 experience or training
