Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Director I, Engineering to lead the RF Components (RFC) product area. The RFC product area is chartered with successful development and execution of all aspects of MMIC/RFIC capabilities, including strategy, growth, proposals, technology and fabrication roadmaps, and transition-to-production of new MMIC/RFIC processes to grow for affordability and competitive advantage. As a provider of MMICs and MMIC based solutions to Raytheon and its customers, RFC is responsible for meeting cost performance (consistent with our bids), schedule, and technical performance on all production and development programs. As a strategic technology development organization, RFC will be responsible for providing and offering access to leading edge technology, manufacturing processes, and robust MMIC designs at competitive prices that enable Raytheon to capture new business opportunities.

The RFC leader focuses on making the functions work together as a high performing team to execute flawlessly in a co-dependent environment.

This position will be located in Andover, MA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Overall leadership of the RFC team chartered with expanding the MMIC capabilities to drive competitiveness and growth
  • Leading a highly matrixed team to execute a common set of goals with operational excellence to achieve the AOP of the Business
  • Increasing the speed at which we develop and transition new processes and MMIC solutions to production
  • Empowering the RFC team to improve efficiency in our execution through process and product oriented Statistical Process Control (Cp,Cpk) and increased automation in the wafer fab
  • Developing new capabilities and improving yields on production released MMIC processes to provide competitive discriminators and affordable products for new pursuits and existing programs
  • Delivering workforce capability, capacity, efficiency and effectiveness, and operational excellence to achieve the AOP; developing strategies enabling RFC to pursue and capture growth opportunities
  • Setting the strategy for GaN and other innovative RF technology developments that ensure Raytheon’s future ability to compete in core businesses
  • Setting the strategy for suppliers of key materials and equipment, such as wafer starting material (GaAs and GaN), critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and reliability test systems to prevent interruptions, supplier escapes, and operate at the velocity required by the business

This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Basic/Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 14 years of prior relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM
  • Knowledge of foundry operation and execution
  • Experience leading high-performing, multi-disciplined / multi-functional teams and understanding of change management strategies to drive performance improvement across RFC
  • Strong understanding of related industry technologies and capabilities
  • Ability to think strategically and put together short and long term plans for acquisition, development, integration, and deployment of technologies in support of business
  • Communication, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Customer Focused
  • Active Secret Security Clearance (DoD)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance (DoD) preferred
  • Comprehensive planning skills for both short-term requirements and long-term opportunities
  • Knowledge, ability and experience with Raytheon Six Sigma, Integrated Product Team deployment, IPDS, and Raytheon Policies
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Product Line organizations and methodologies
