Dir I Business Development

The Director I Business Development Air Warfare Systems, Precision Standoff Strike, has overall responsibility for developing and fulfilling a mission area strategy for the identification, qualification and capture of new business and ensuring growth objectives are met. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the Precision Standoff Strike portfolio, share examples of their success as a leader of high performing teams, and have an understanding of the customer’s requirements. The Precision Standoff Strike Mission Area consists of the Tomahawk, NSM/JSM and JSOW portfolios and interacts with all service customers and international partners.

Key Responsibilities:

·Align with Programs on Precision Standoff Strike long-range strategic captures and assist in merging the technical details, customer requirements, and contact plan into sustained capture initiatives (may span a number of years).
·Work with DoD Acquisition Sponsors and senior leadership to help shape DoD requirements and funding plans for Precision Standoff Strike mission assets.
·Identify long-term strategic opportunities for the product line for the Precision Standoff Strike mission area, aligning with Business Development and product line Vision and Growth goals, and develop and manage a strategy to capture the business.
·Identify new Precision Standoff Strike opportunities and transition them to the specific product business development and program personnel for the applicable next step in the capture process.
·Develop and submit to Program and Product Line leadership for approval, the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) Gates -1 through 4 for the various Precision Standoff Strike opportunities identified as potential growth opportunities.
·Coordinate and understand international offset requirements as required for the Precision Standoff Strike mission area
·Develop relationships across Raytheon, industry, customers, subcontractors and teammates, and with the appropriate government agencies and international organizations as required.
·Capable of leading a team of business development professionals and ensuring their continued professional growth and development to maximize their contributions to the mission area, product line, and business unit.
·Requires close coordination with the respective AWS Program Management Team, Raytheon International, Inc. (RII), cross other RMS programs and AWS and international Representatives and Consultants.

Required Skills/Experience:
·Minimum 14years’ experience; preferably of progressively responsible related experience (i.e., strategic planning, business development, defense, program management, aviation and naval warfare- experience.)
·Demonstrated knowledge of DoD Acquisition, FMS, and or DCS processes
·Demonstrated experience articulating customer positions, status and strategies to senior management.
·Ability to obtain Secret and Top Secret security clearance

Desired Skills/Experience
·Proven track record of successfully growing a business with expanded customers and markets
·Proven track record of customer engagement and relationship building
·Experience working with program leadership to develop technical growth roadmaps
·Solid understanding of ITAR regulations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), licensing requirements, and release-ability
·Ability to establish and cultivate relationships within the US Military operational commands, development labs and acquisition agencies
·Strong verbal and written communication skills; commands presence and ability to demonstrate business and technical acumen
·Familiarity with the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) process and gate reviews
·Ability to determine business case and financial impact for both short term and long term business goals.
·Working knowledge of missile technologies advanced development programs

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Economics, Political Science/International Affairs, Engineering or other related field (MBA preferred)

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
