Digital Signal Processing Engineer


SAIC is seeking a Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join the Space and Mission Systems Group (SMSG) in our Chantilly, VA office.  SMSG provides specialized engineering, analysis, and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers.  We support the generation after next of national security related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground. 

The SMSG has an opening for an engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to an IC research and development (R&D) customer.  The customer is developing the next-generation of spacecraft architectures, hardware and software solutions for the IC.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Support RF communications systems R&D in areas such as digital signal processing, SIGINT, antennas and receivers
- Provide support to acquisition, source selection, programmatic processes
- Provide technical reviews and assessments of contractor and government lab development activities
- Develop documents and briefings to communicate program status and to brief government as required


- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a sub-specialty (e.g., RF communications, antennas, signal processing) and 14 years of relevant experience
- Satellite engineering knowledge to include architecture and concept development, hardware and/or software design and development, integration and test, on-orbit activation
- Aptitude for on-site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) work
- Excellent interpersonal, briefing, and writing skills
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Active TS/SCI clearance w/Poly
