Deputy Program Manager - Navy Program


We anticipate hiring a Deputy Program Manager overseeing a Program Management Support Task on a NAVSEA program in Washington DC. In this role you will lead a team providing program management and administrative support to multiple NAVSEA Program Managers (PMs). Your efforts will involve issues beyond these program offices and closely support leadership in the management of these organizations and various supporting organizations.

Duties may include, but will not be limited to:
  • Directs all phases of programs. 
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of programs or subsystems of major programs. 
  • Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. 
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. 
  • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. 
  • Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. 
  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
This job is contingent on award of contract. 


  • Substantial experience in Program Management; Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business 
  • Experience running a large Professional Support Services contract with multiple subcontractors and multiple program offices at a Navy Systems Command 
  • Experience running technical programs
  • Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications


  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or DAWIA Level III Certification in Program Management, Production, Quality and Manufacturing, and/or Contracting.
