Deployment Project Planner Senior

Job Summary
As aligned to the Regional Information Management Center (RIMC) Support Model, the Deployment Project Planner Senior provides project management oversight from early specification of the deployment and install project on the IMS. Oversees project through closeout for planning, forecasting, and implementing of network/software systems.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
  • Focuses on the scheduling, support, coordination, communication, and oversight of the equipment integration and shipments
  • Organizes large amounts of data/activities; presents status in a clear, concise, accurate, and consistent manner
  • Manages the Travel Tracker information and overall project site and data within SupplyView
  • Deploy work to installation crews via scheduling system. Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct project assignments
  • Support and advise on schedule performance, forecasts, risks, performance measurement data, tracking, analyzing and reporting project cost and schedule data
  • Monitor input, activities, relationships, and resources into scheduling package to support a resource loaded schedule
  • Responsible for project reporting to include generating monthly performance measurement reports, preparing variance analysis reports, preparing project data for project meetings, and ensuring timely collection and interpretation of schedule data within the project database
  • Analyze and perform complex field deployment analysis. Assist in researching and analyzing data and make recommendations on complicated deployment issues
  • Build the detailed deployment plan and send refreshed information for a particular installations to the IDI (Integration, Deployment and Installation) Manager on an ongoing basis
  • Direct, track and schedule installation of approximately 30 site installations per quarter by contractors and client personnel
  • Arranges travel for the program installation team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Time management and project management skills and the ability to work with various teams and groups while staying focused on program goals
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements with various teams
  • Background and knowledge in various deployment methods
  • Knowledge and experience in desktop hardware, operating system, applications and peripheral device deployment and troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding on Windows AD and networking technologies
  • Ability to track and facilitate resolution of operational issues, communicate with clients and stakeholders, plan and track Budget including SOWs, and resource prioritization
  • Ability to create and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of customer service practices
  • Good communication skills

Experience & Education

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Information Technology (IT) project management
  • Bachelor’s degree in an information management related field preferred
  • Professional Project Management certification preferred
  • Deployment, migration and troubleshooting experience
  • Top Secret Security Clearance required
