Database Developer

The SQL Server Database Developer candidate will have demonstrated experience developing large scale, cloud-based financial solutions within the Federal Government, with a high degree of flexibility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business requirements and develop database objects for optimal performance and scale
  • Data modeling for transactional including conceptual, logical, and physical representations
  • Design and develop data components- stored procedures, functions, views, indexes, etc.
  • Performance tuning of queries to achieve maximum performance
  • Design and implement solutions for data cleansing and maintaining data integrity and accuracy
  • Monitor capacity and performance, and proactively resolve any problems
  • Tune database for optimal performance
  • Validate that all physical database designs satisfy business requirements, and meet standards to database objects, data integrity, security, performance and recoverability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a wide of database problems
  • Implement database and data security

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with budget/financial databases and understanding of Federal Government accounting practices
  • Public Trust Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science
  • 8+ years of SQL Server and T-SQL development experience
  • 5+ years of database development supporting OLTP and reporting applications
  • Experience with database development objects such as stored procedures, triggers and views in both SQL Server and SQL Azure
  • Experience with VLBDs
  • Extensive experience with database performance tuning
  • Extensive experience with indexing strategies
  • Experience in database refactoring
  • Experience with metadata driven database solutions
  • Strong understanding and experience developing highly configurable and performant dynamic SQL
