Summary:

The Databaseand SharePoint Manager is responsible for providing primary and backupdatabase administration (DBA) services for all relational databases operatingat Natick Soldier Systems Center (NSSC), as well as supporting SharePoint 2016development and administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performdatabase builds, reorganizations, maintenance, tuning, backups, restorations,and query design.
  • Installand upgrade the database servers and application tools, maintaining versionsthat have a current Department of Defense Information Network – Army (DoDIN-A)Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) or an RMF Assess Only authorization.
  • Performrelease management.
  • Keepdatabase systems patched and address all DISA STIGs.
  • Providesystem support documentation for all databases and database routines on allRelational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) supported at NSSC.
  • Installapproved 3rd party software for applications and developer tools.
  • Monitorand quickly resolve any connectivity issues on multiple platforms andprotocols.
  • Providerecommendations and alternatives regarding which platform best supports eachRDBMS.
  • Workwith NSSC customers to integrate approved software solutions with managed RDBMSdatabase systems.
  • Supportand administer database application integration with Active Directory tosupport Single Sign On.
  • Developand support database scripts to automate daily routines and provide alerts andissue database user IDs and passwords.
  • Develop,field, and support database applications.
  • Providedatabase administration support for new and existing tables and other databaseformats.
  • Createlogical and physical database design.
  • Createprimary database table structure, working in conjunction with applicationdevelopers.
  • Createprimary objects, working in conjunction with application developers.
  • Performfile transfers using file transfer protocols (FTPs), loads, downloads, datafile manipulation, and data archiving.
  • Managemultiple RDBMS including Oracle Enterprise Server 11G/12c (and later) andMicrosoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016 (and later).
  • Writereports using PL/SQL as needed.
  • Supportmultiple database applications, both custom-designed and 3rd party. SQL ServerRDBMS are used to support multiple applications including Genesis, FM Systems,WSFTP SharePoint, SIMS2000, VMware, SolarWinds, Commvault and several customNSSC applications.
  • Providesupport for the RMF/Accreditation Process.
  • Responsiblefor monitoring databases for performance, space utilization, anderrors/warnings.
  • Design,develop and administer SharePoint 2016 including creation of sites, subsites,and sub-areas
  • Developdata views
  • Manageuser population
  • Movesites and lists within the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server environment
  • Implementfeatures and web parts
  • Createand manage SharePoint workflows.
  • UnderstandMicrosoft Office SharePoint Server architecture and mid-size SharePoint webfarms (i.e. web front ends, index servers, and database server architectures).
  • Setup,configure and manage SharePoint environments.
  • Useserver and SharePoint metrics to determine overall system health and applythose metrics to capacity planning needs.
  • Providesupport and guidance to NSSC SharePoint users, ensure SharePoint functionality,and troubleshoot issues with performance or stability
  • Create,maintain, and execute PowerShell scripts for SharePoint maintenance
  • Articulatepositive and negative aspects of how architectural choices impact theSharePoint environment and end-users.
  • Createand maintain documentation and deliverables such as After Action Reports, UserGuides, Release Notes, Database Designs.
  • Followall NSSC and tenant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Otherduties as assigned

MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’sDegree in related field required
    • 10+years direct relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of education
      • Combined total of16 years for education.
  • 5+years’ experience in the following:
    • SQLServer development, preferably Microsoft SQL 2014 or higher
    • SharePoint(administrator, designer, developer) including deployment of a productionSharePoint environment with several hundred users.
  • Experience in ASP.NET MVC, C#, PowerShell, webparts, master pages, and windows workflow foundations.
  • PossessBaseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-I IAW DoD8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002.
  • SQLcertification is required.
  • Possessand maintain a valid state operator's license.
  • Interimsecret clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • Abilityto obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Experiencewith Oracle Enterprise, SharePoint 2016, InfoPath, and Visual Studio ispreferred.
  • Abilityto work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Mustbe adept at reading installation guides and implementing new software products.
  • Mustbe proficient with Microsoft Windows 10, and have solid troubleshooting skills.
  • Strongcommunications skills (both written and oral)
  • Strongcustomer service and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Abilityto listen and understand what is being described by the end-user as well as theability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
  • Abilityto meet minimum security clearance requirements.

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
