What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI has an immediate need for a Database Administrator to work in our Charleston, SC office.  This position is in support of a new Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC, formerly SPAWAR) contract. NIWC provides Health Information Technology engineering support for Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Departments, Defense Health Agency (DHA), and other DoD medical organizations.

More About the Role:

  • Provide database development and administration support for Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL, and other database software as required including applications interfacing with these databases.
  • Perform system administrator tasks such as installation, maintenance, and support of multi-platform technology, client/server infrastructure, SQL Server databases, and PC LAN environments including Windows 2008/2012/2016, and Windows XP/7/10
  • Utilize logic skills and trouble-shoot technology issues, including networking and server configurations.
  • Manage and implement configuration baselines following industry’s best practices and have knowledge of security implementation guides (i.e., DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmark)
  • Perform Patch Management and Software deployment tools (SCCM, BigFix, WSUS) to manage the deployment of patches and software products in the network

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Database administrator in a professional environment
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Infrastructure technologies - Windows server 2008R2 or newer
  • Experience implementing security standards in a fast paced operational environment
  • Ability to work independently or under only general supervision
  • Strong customer service and technical writing skills
  • Oral communication skills, including the ability to give formal presentations to different audiences
  • Experience troubleshooting computer and network issues, developing or improving configuration management processes and procedures, and implementing these processes and procedures
  • Ability to work with system owners, Cybersecurity, developers and other contractors to engage in joint project planning, execution and documentation
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to support after hours operations as required
  • Ability to follow DoD Cybersecurity standards
  • Experience with sponsor enterprise/mission network operations and policies
  • May require after hours support for system upgrades, etc.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

  • DoD 8570.01M IAT II baseline certification and OS/Environment Certification
