Data Management Support Specialist

Job Duties and Responsibilities

ManTech International Corporation is seeking a qualified candidate to become a Data Management Support Specialist supporting a Federal Agency.  This position requires candidates possess a current and active Secret security clearance to qualify.  

In this position, the selected candidate will:

  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Secure Flight system data. Receives, inspects, validates, transforms, cleanses, and loads data received in a variety of formats (e.g., Excel, CVS, XML) from a variety of sources (e.g., air carriers, federal organizations). Identifies erroneous or anomalous data and takes actions to correct or remove errors in order to restore data sets to reliable levels.
  • Provides support to Systems Management and Operations teams by troubleshooting application and data problems and fulfilling data requests. Supports the Secure Flight Technology branch by assisting with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and data application investigations.
  • Supports the operational mission during all maintenance and deployment activities by preparing and verifying the production environments with critical application and data testing.
  • Captures and reports on all data management activities. Tracks data-related issues, problems, and performance metrics for historical reporting purposes.
Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field) or equivalent, and two to four years of related experience.

  • Five or more years of practical knowledge in server operating systems, the command line interface, batch/shell scripting in Microsoft Server and UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology and data management processes including following a change control process and related procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem skills including the ability to apply reason, logic and critical thinking in order to gather, analyze, manipulate data, identify, isolate and correct data errors. Use these skills to determine root cause and impact of data anomalies.
  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and industry-standard relational database management systems (RDBMS) including IBM DB2, and Oracle. Intermediate skills in database administration activities including implementation, testing and managing mission-critical databases at an enterprise level. Use these skills to conduct SQL queries and data analyses using joins, unions, aggregate functions, and other techniques.
  • Certifications could include: Security+, ITIL Foundation, Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, IBM DB2 9/10.x Database Associate, MCSA: SQL Server, MCSA: SQL, MTA, Security+, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics, MCSE: Data Platform, DB2 10.x Database Administrator for LUW, Oracle Database 1x(10/11/12)g Administrator Certificate Associate, Oracle Database Foundations Certified Junior Associate.
