Data Center Engineering Operations Training Specialist

DESCRIPTIONThe ideal candidate will be highly motivated and be someone who has a proven track record of developing training content and delivering training to others.
The successful candidate will have a data center electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate complex technical content into easy-to-understand training. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have training or technical documentation experience, and above all will have a passion for learning and teaching others.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
· Act as a training subject matter expert for electrical and mechanical equipment operation and troubleshooting within the data center
· Provide practical, hands-on training for Infrastructure Operations teams
· Provide technical training (Military or trade school) or relevant experience
· Train employees on how to safely operate and maintain data center critical systems, which includes stand-by diesel generators, PLC Switchboards, UPSs, PDUs, VLA Batteries and associated systems.
The primary responsibilities for DCEO Training Specialist include:
· Delivering instructor led training for Infrastructure Operations teams
· Collaborating with training team members to ensure training classes are scheduled in accordance with our global curriculum
· Creating and updating training content, assessments and practical training to further enhance our training curriculum
· Reviewing relevant training content prepared by other members of the training team and supplying timely feedback
· Assisting in managing an in house training facility for continuous learning
· Assisting in the development of emergency operating procedures for data center critical systems
· Providing technical assistance to infrastructure operations teams as required
· Working with management to coordinate training exercises and drills
· Coordinating practical training
· Overseeing small training projects, including daily/weekly reporting responsibilities
· Travel may be required up to 25%

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS· 3+ years of Data Center Engineering experience
· 3+ years of proven experience with electrical testing procedures such as power quality, monitoring, thermography, harmonics, breaker testing, critical load calculations, PUE and BMS systems.
· 3+ years of experience delivering instructor led training including Data Center Safety best practices.
· This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and must be willing to go through the U.S. Clearance process to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraphPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· Qualified in a relevant electrical/mechanical/engineering discipline
· 2-5 years training or technical writing experience
· Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
· Proficient with Microsoft Office products (excel, word) and web-based operational tools
· Understands the content development process and hands on experience creating training materials and/or written instructions/procedures
