Data Center Design Engineer
Perspecta has an immediate need for a Data Center Design Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
Apply technical knowledge, experience and leadership to design, operate and administer multiple technology areas (e.g. server design & configuration, administration, technical security management, performance management) or customer groups that are critical or high-risk in an enterprise environment.
  • Integrate technical knowledge, business understanding and leadership skills to create superior solutions for Perspecta and for customers.

      • SMTP mail Flow
      • SPF, DKIM and DMARC
      • Design: Develop server design and configuration based on service need.
      • Incident Management: Resolve single and cross technology incidents independently. Lead team members to resolve unusually complex or cross technology incidents.
      • Escalation Management: identify, manage and lead escalations through L3.
      • Problem Management: Lead teams to proactively and reactively develop innovative solutions to prevent problems from occurring in team/technology areas.
      • Change Management/Implementation: Independently review, implement and verify changes/ solutions of any complexity and risk to meet customer infrastructure needs. Lead or participate in a Change Advisory Board.
      • Patch and Security Management: Apply patch and security changes per policy. Proactively monitor the environment for patch compliance. Lead a team to analyze patches for compatibility with each solution or internal infrastructure environment. Implement and maintain a secure Linux server environment in compliance with all IA and DoD STIG guidelines.
      • Configuration Management: Ensure Configuration Management Database (CMDB) entries are complete and accurate.  Participate in audits of configuration items.  Review and updated documentation of all aspects of the email architecture.
      • Solution Design: Provide team leadership in applying Perspecta solutions to meet highly complex customer infrastructure needs.
      • Quality: Provide feedback/influence change in internal and/or vendor-provided products/service offerings to ensure continuous service improvement.
      • Project Management: Lead or participate in customer and internal projects across technologies and customers.  Provide integration between various suppliers to ensure seamless delivery or transformation services.
      • Customer Relationship Management: Influence with customers and/or internal businesses/end users regarding operational details, solutions, and proposals. Become a trusted advisor to the customer.
      • Teamwork: Provide individual mentorship to team members which may be virtual, global, and/or multi-functional. Act as a resource to the team in one or more technical or business areas. Provide mentorship inside and outside the team/technology area. Must be comfortable working successfully in a self-directed environment and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications
Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent work experience. May have Master’s degree in related field. Prefer certification(s) in work field. 
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server (multiple versions).
  • Solid understanding of RedHat Linux.
  • Excellent experience with Microsoft Exchange 2010.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange integration.
  • Strong understanding of Proofpoint.
  • Considerable experience with other technology sub-areas; server administration, server security, testing and implementation processes and procedures.
  • Good experience with DKIM, SPF and DMARC.
  • Strong Customer Service skills, ability to communicate with peers and end users.
  • General Project Management skills.
  • Customer/Vendor Management skills.
  • Strong Business Analysis skills.
  • Financial management skills.
This position requires United States Citizenship and ability to clear a Public Trust clearance.
