Data Analyst

What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is seeking a Data Analyst to support a new Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC, formerly SPAWAR) contract. NIWC provides Health Information Technology engineering support for Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Departments, Defense Health Agency (DHA), and other DoD medical organizations.  The Data Analyst focuses on analysis and problem solving, data challenges as they relate to types of data, and relationships among data elements within the portfolio.

More About the Role:

  • Cleanse, curate and standardize data with quality to support sustainable and scalable data interaction, analysis and insight development
  • Understand, transform, and visualize large data sets from many sources using a variety of tools
  • Implement enterprise data governance model and actively promotes the concept of data sharing, data reuse, data quality and data standards across the portfolio
  • Perform any necessary data mapping, data lineage activities and document information flows
  • Build the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems
  • Serve as data subject matter expert and demonstrate an understanding of key data management principles and data use across the portfolio
  • Model and communicate findings to make data analysis actionable and understandable by business partners
  • Collaborate with different departments, technical SMEs, and testers to solve problems and convey key messages using data visualization approaches, techniques, and methods
  • Develop intuitive, attractive, and interactive data visualizations using internal data for dashboards and reports
  • Interprets requirements, performs highly complex analyses, and presents options and recommendations to obtain desired results

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • BS degree in (Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems or Computer Science) and three (3) years experience or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Strong problem formulation, analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and succinct manner
  • Change oriented, with the ability to actively generate process improvements, support and drive change, and confront difficult circumstances in creative ways
  • Experience working with big data-related projects, and data operations experience compiling data for analytics, working with data analysis methodologies and supporting tools
  • Experience in data design, data architecture and data modeling (both transactional and analytic)
  • Knowledge of data management standards, data governance practices and data quality
