Cyber Security Forensic Specialist

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cyber Security Forensic Specialist supporting the customer, you will be trusted to support overall network defense activities and provide in-depth analysis of suspected malicious code and/or infected systems. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Perform necessary inspection and reverse-engineering activities to understand the behavior of the software.
  • Assist with investigative efforts, conduct network traffic analysis, support CI focused network architecture reviews.
  • Assess data pertaining to network intrusions and/or cyber related attacks on customer equities, and assess Sponsor's operational technologies.
  • Perform all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 7+ years of network/cyber security experience in a secure environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on TCP/IP networking projects and demonstrated experience with network security principals.
  • Experience planning, configuration, implementation and maintenance of IP network products including routers, switches, wireless networking, VPN's, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, OWT appliances.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following operating systems: Cisco iOS, NXOS, JunOS.
  • Demonstrated experience with communications protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, MPLS, OPSF, IGRP, and BGP.
  • Knowledge and experience with encryption products, methodologies, configuration.
  • Knowledge and experience with Networking Packet Capture Applications/Appliances, such as Netwitness, Solera, Probe, Wireshark, Snort.
  • Knowledge and experience with Networking Vulnerability Scanner, Web Scanner, and Database Scanner, such as Nessus, Webinspect, AppDetective.
  • Experience with Network Management products such as HP OpenView, Solarwind.
  • Experience with Anonymous/Privacy internet capabilities and supporting networking architecture.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) programs such as CAD or Visio.
  • Certifications: CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, Juniper NCSP or Juniper NCP, Amazon Cloud Service Certification or similar cloud certification.

BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
