The Systems Architecture Design and Integration Directorate (SADID) is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The more than 1,100 employees of SADID provide requirements definition and design at the system, subsystem and component level every day in a collaborative environment which is characterized by respect for the individual, problem solving in a team setting, consensus oriented solutions, and results based recognition. Supporting this mission are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in surveillance, naval and missile defense based radar system design, sonar and undersea sensor system design, integrated air and missile defense systems engineering, command and control/battle management system design, combat system and platform architecture design and integration, operational analysis and simulation modeling research and development, software intensive system engineering, cyber solutions and algorithm development for signal processing, tracking and discrimination systems. There is a current need for systems engineers with interoperability and Tactical Data Links experience to work on the SSDS program at our Raytheon San Diego, CA facility.

  • Systems Engineering position with 4 or more years engineering experience related to cyber security or infrastructure of network systems.
  • Primarily work with both systems leads and systems engineering peers on system designs, requirements development, and process implementation
  • Support the design, development, documentation, analysis, and creation, of the SSDS network system design and design specifications of a software development program
  • Employ a functional knowledge of a wide variety of systems engineering procedures as they apply them to cyber security or infrastructure of network systems and their design development processes
  • Work with personnel across multiple engineering disciplines and teams
  • Participate in continual product improvement efforts and work with team members to implement best practices
  • Work with limited supervision, and take ownership of projects to achieve schedule, financial, and technical goals as assigned
  • Some travel may be required


Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of network team to configure the network and help evolve the network architecture of a small enterprise network
  • Perform integration and evaluation of middleware infrastructure and additional Linux security enhancements
  • Develop requirements for new cyber security functionality
  • Develop technical ocumentation and internal white papers to capture merits of new hardware/design/infrastructure. Collaborated with customer and vendor to solve system/equipment limitations or defects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ablilty to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance within 1 year of start date
  • 4+ years of relavant experience
  • Experience with Linux and Networking (OSPF, PIM, VLANs, HSRP, …)
  • Understanding of Router ACLs, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Anti-virus
  • Comfortable with MS Office Suite & Visio
  • Familiar with in the certification process through the National Security System such as NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) or related security guidance.
  • Familiar with IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test tools; e.g., Nessus, ACAS, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).
  • Experience with information security toolset including anti-virus, Vulnerability Assessment, HIDS/ NIDS

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cyber/Network Certifications: CEH, CISSP, CCNA
  • CompTIA Linux+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Experienced with Wireshark / tcpdump
  • Experienced with shell scripting

Required Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Electriacl, Computer Science, Mathmatics or other relavant area.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.  Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
