Cyber Security Engineer

Sentar is currently seeking IV&V Specialists to support an active government contract. These individuals will conduct cybersecurity analysis in preparation for A&A. This position covers technical information security aspects including, but not limited to, identifying risks, providing mitigation plan of action, analyzing system designs, assisting with A&A issues that may be preventing a system from receiving authorization, and developing custom mitigation solutions for information system vulnerabilities.


  • Conduct in-depth analysis of Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) and functional/operational test results for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to DoD and Federal cybersecurity technical and operational security requirements.
  • Document residual risks by conducting a thorough review of all the vulnerabilities, architecture, and defense in depth and provides the cybersecurity risk analysis and mitigation determination results for the Test Report.
  • Assist the Validator with producing the risk assessment artifacts describing residual risks identified during A&A testing
  • Develop/maintain agency level cybersecurity policy and processes that implement DoD Cybersecurity program.
  • ​3+ years of related and a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or 10+ years of related experience without a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST publications related to RMF and associated security guidance and controls.
  • Understanding of scanning tools (e.g., ACAS) and reporting platforms (e.g., eMASS) needed to assess and express system vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs/SRG requirements, defense-in-depth, and other information security and assurance principles and associated supporting technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of an IAT level II certification
