Cyber Security Engineer, #4266

Brief Description

LinQuest is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA.

 

This position is in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC).  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing IA and Cyber Security expertise including consultation with our customer in the development of MILSATCOM programs
  • Program support lifecycle stages from concept development and contract pre-acquisition through contractor design and accreditation
  • Consulting with customer during working group participation and provide solutions to challenging problems
  • Engaging customer and colleagues to coordinate and resolve differences
  • Evaluating technical risk in accordance with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Interfacing with other government organizations during security evaluation of engineering design solutions.
  • Provide compliance support during contractor accreditation phase
Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Plans and completes small projects or tasks within larger projects, with responsibility for establishing meeting time/budget constraints
  • Evaluating technical risk with RMF

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Performs more complex scientific projects
  • Writes codes/designs more complex components and instruments
  • tests & debugs equipment and/or software
  • performs other duties related to engineering systems, programming, and other technical assignments
  • Assists in preparation and presentation of proposals, and develops contacts with potential clients

 

Required Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent and 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with willingness to learn
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
  • Any DoD Approved 8570 IA Baseline Certification, Level I, II, or III
  • 3-5 years of work experience in Information Assurance (IA)/Cyber Security
  • 3-5 years with space or aeronautical systems engineering & integration programs and projects
  • US Citizenship and active DoD Secret Clearance is required to considered for this position

 

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree in technical field
  • RMF or DIACAP Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V)
  • NIST 800-53 and CNSSI 1253 RMF Analysis and Accreditation
  • Cybersecurity certification (CISSP, CISM or CASP)
  • Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, FAB-T terminal programs
  • Experience working with military or DoD civilian clients
