Cyber Intelligence and Targeting Analyst



The Cyber Intelligence and Targeting Analyst will be immersed into a dynamic environment composed of a diverse team of analysts, linguists, cultural experts, and operations officers. The Cyber Intelligence and Targeting Analyst will be responsible for identifying trends and patterns of activity in support of targeting opportunities and strategies in the virtual realm. The targeter must be able to identify potential vulnerabilities and conduct thorough risk assessments of current and future operations. Furthermore, the candidate must be able to utilize research and critical thinking skills, as well writing and briefing abilities on both current and long term strategic operations.  The candidate's ability to identify and assess the right entities, vulnerabilities, and technology trends to enable new operations that answer critical intelligence issues is vital to this work. This requires strong analytic, research, and investigative skills combined with an operational sense and personal initiative, in addition to some technical expertise. This position will require interaction with a wide variety of Government and contractor personnel and the candidate must be ability to operate in a diverse, evolving, and high profile environment.


  • Utilizes all-sources of intelligence, but primarily SIGINT, HUMINT, OSINT, and SMINT (social media intelligence), to provide recommendations and courses of actions to government leads

  • Identifies and Reports Potential Targets and Trends through Traffic Analysis

  • Creates incident, threat, and information reports/products 

  • Operates in a diverse, evolving, and high profile environment


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. In Lieu of Bachelors Degree four (4)+ years of relevant experience will be fine

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain a Poly (PR within 6 years)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligence Studies, International Studies; or a related field (in-field experience may be substituted for education)

  • 5+ years of experience within the intelligence community

  • Experience in providing targeting support to strategic and/or counterintelligence platforms, highlighting relationships within target networks

  • Experience with assessment of sources and their reporting through the corroboration of source reporting and providing analytical feedback

  • Working knowledge of popular, legacy, and new social media, blog sites, and mobile applications

  • Experience with HOTR, CIAWire, Harmony, NCTCOnline, TAC, Open Source Center, TIDE, etc.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; Analyst Notebook and/or Palantir

  • Strong knowledge of  military operations, terminology, and structure

  • Preparing Information Reports with excellent writing and briefing skills


Desired Qualifications

  • Defense Strategic Debriefer (DSDC), SOIC or equivalent certification

  • Former Military/Civilian Intelligence experience (35F, 35L, 35M, 14N, 1N0, 0210, 0211, or equivalent)

  • Experience with Military or Law Enforcement Community Counterintelligence Investigations

  • Experience in the production and dissemination of Intelligence Information Reports (IIRs)

  • Active Poly (must be able to take/pass “at-will”)
