Cyber Defense Firewall Security - Cleared Professional

Functional duties consist of:

  1. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical problems involving Palo Alto firewalls.
  2. Planning and directing upgrades and system enhancements.
  3. Developing and implementing testing strategies and documenting results.
  4. Providing system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
  5. Serving as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
  6. Providing guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff.
  7. Communicating with customers and teammates clearly and concisely.
  8. Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  9. Participating in special projects as required.
  10. Developing documentation on new or existing systems.
  11. Performing complex system development, design, modeling, analysis, and sustainment of network-based sensor systems.
  12. May have supervisory responsibilities.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
Qualifications

The program position requires:

  • 8 or more years of advanced related knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques and knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
  • A TS/SCI clearance
  • Candidate's ability to obtain and maintain a Poly.
  • An approved DoD 8570 IAT II certification prior to employment.  Viable certifications that meet this requirement are Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.  Most candidates obtain the Security+ CE certification.
  • An approved DoD 8570 IASAE II certification within six months from the date of hire.  Viable certifications that meet this requirement are CASP CE, CISSP (or Associate), or CSSLP
