CWMD Senior Ops Analyst

Provide chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) related analytic support to Headquarters Air Force Assistant Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, (AF/A10S). Activities provide direct support to warfighters and may include, but are not limited to:
• Research adversary offensive CBRN capabilities, determine Air Force defensive competencies, prepare gap analysis products, and develop non-material solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities and maximize operational capabilities.
• Lead service-wide effort to develop Air Force Counter-Chemical Warfare Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Counter-Biological Warfare CONOPS, Counter-Radiological Warfare CONOPS, and Counter-Nuclear Warfare CONOPS.
• Develop mechanisms to enable warfighters to quantify CBRN-related hazards, and select different response options based on varying degrees of risk and operational impact.
• Determine operational benefit, strengths and limitations of USAF CBRN equipment and procedures to include accompanying desired equipment performance criteria and operational rationale for values.
• Apply CBRN technical and operational expertise to develop and identify changes to USAF strategies and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP) to survive and operate in CBRN environments, with a focus on major combat operation (MCO) scenarios.
• Determine probable impacts of CBRN on USAF critical mission operations across the range of military operations, develop science-based decision aids for mitigation of current and projected CBRN-related vulnerabilities.
• Develop recommendations for changes to multi-service and USAF guidance, operational plans, and TTP to improve interoperability across joint force and coalition nation components in support of combatant commander tasks.
• Maintain currency in scientific literature related to CBRN. Survey test results, assess validity and relevance for USAF operating environments and recommend incorporation of appropriate data into guidance and analytical products.
• Conduct detailed modeling and simulation using VLSTRACK, HPAC and JEM, of agent dispersal and behavior in typical USAF operating environments. Analyze impacts of the CBRN hazard environment, informed by scientific principles, on air operations at the installation level.
• Prepare oral and written reports and briefings, in a form understandable to a non-technical forum, using MS Office suite of products. Present reports orally in briefing format to senior USAF and Joint leaders (3 star and above).
• Provide quantitative, technical analytical support to assure USAF Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction policy is feasible and effective.

Education: Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Analytics, Bioenvironmental Engineering, or other CBRN-related field preferred. Associates degree and ten (10) years of experience in CBRN emergency management may substitute for Bachelor’s degree.
