Systems Operations Specialist

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Mission Systems Operations Specialist supporting the customer, you will be trusted to monitor, update, troubleshoot and repair all computer hardware. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Maintaining the customer's production LAN including all workstations, laptops, servers, printers, plotters and scanners
  • Monitoring system performance, disk space, peripheral status, backups and upgrades.
  • Managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for loading software and building, installing, modifying, updating, troubleshooting and repairing all computer hardware.
• Provide engineering and production support for video and DVD authoring systems.
• Data Transfer Officer (DTO); Assist in the ingestion and output of removable media and to oversee the archiving and retrieval of products and media assets.
• Work with the customer to assess production capabilities and track necessary procurements, transfers and modifications of accountable property.
• Familiar with procurement process, as well as, the Property Turn-In (PTI) process.
• Provide technical assistance with Windows 10, Adobe Creative Cloud software suite and Maya production software.
• Familiarity with media production processes and an expert in troubleshooting media production software.
• Create and update hardware, software and process documentation, as required.
• Ensure currency of maintenance contracts and schedule routine service.
• Local travel to perform and complete mission-related tasks.
• Decommission independent production LAN, break down the equipment racks and transfer or PTI the servers.
• Transfer existing hard copy (DVD and Blu-Ray) product archives to Cloud storage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • C2S; Experience moving data storage to C2S.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
