The Defense Group at Leidos has an opening for a Current Operations / Intelligence Picture Technician (COP / CIP Tech) – Mid to support the J2 at U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) at Schriever Air Force Base (AFB), Colorado Springs, Colorado. USSPACECOM is the 11th Unified Combatant Command and will perform missions and functions associated with every Combatant Command (CCMD), including several missions unique to the joint space warfighter. The USSPACECOM Intelligence Directorate (J2) will conduct joint intelligence operations and perform critical operational intelligence functions to support missions assigned to USSPACECOM. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience, education, and abilities to support the newest Unified Combatant Command in the Department of Defense.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the COP / CIP Technician include, but are not limited to, working with J26 staff to integrate all intelligence data streams, analytics, and visualization tool development to facilitate intelligence operating pictures, and presentation of data to enable decision making, indications and warning, and mission context. The contractor shall research and identify the best COP / CIP programs (on SIPR and JWICS) to adopt by the J2 workforce and USSPACECOM. The contractor shall work with J26 staff to submit requirements / funding requests to create a COP / CIP in the event no current applications meets the J2 workforce needs. The contractor shall coordinate with USSPACECOM J6, Intelligence Community (IC) and DoD agencies to ensure USSPACECOM J2 data is incorporated in IC / DoD COP / CIPs and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure the COP / CIP is operational 24 / 7 for J2 workforce and USSPACECOM JOC.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in an area related to the COP/CIP Technician from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.    
  • Minimum Experience: 8 years relevant to the COP/CIP Technician with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive mission knowledge and skills that affirms completion of all developmental training and experiences for the COP/CIP Technician.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced.
  • Demonstrates ability to structure analysis based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organizations, and intelligence disciplines.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.
