Cross Product Team Lead - Systems Engineering

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is looking for a talented senior level engineer who will execute in the role of Cross Product Team Lead within the Whole Life Engineering Directorate - Mission Systems & Sensors Business area.

The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of multiple disciplines across a global footprint. WLED influences hardware, software, and system architectures and designs early in their life cycle to assure effective, reliable, maintainable, and economical ownership by the customer and end user. Supporting this mission are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in life cycle cost modeling, reliability, safety, human system integration, component selection and obsolescence mitigation, maintenance planning, logistics product data development, technical manual development, operator and maintainer training, spares analysis, return and repair management, Major Equipment Item modernization, depot upgrades, operational manpower and personnel, and support equipment.

As a Cross Product Team Lead, you’re responsible for providing innovative and trusted solutions that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Mission Systems & Sensors products and services over their life cycle. In this role, you’ll leverage existing and new capabilities being developed within WLED in collaboration with the various system, SW, and HW design organizations, sibling program Cross Product Teams and Integrated Product Teams, Chief Engineers and Program Directors and Managers.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Providing functional leadership of the WLED Cross Product Team.
  • Driving flawless technical, schedule, and cost performance of WLED products and services that leverages best practices, process optimization, state of the art tools and techniques and people skills by establishing key process and product metrics and driving continuous improvement.
  • Providing WLED inputs to proposals, supporting customer proposal negotiations, executing program start-up to include program Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule and performance baseline development. Developing and partnering customer proposals, white papers, statements of work and Basis of Estimates
  • Achieving staffing demands, identifying and developing key personnel, and building long-term plans that support WLED and Mission Systems & Sensors business models.
  • Supporting the WLED Director and Engineering VP via compliance to internal policies and procedures including development of program tracking books, Estimate at Completions (EACs), and compliance with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS).

Domestic travel will be required, International Travel may be required

This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:
  • 8+ years’ engineering, program or project management experience
  • Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Experience with Earned Value Management or experience integrating project cost, schedule, risk and progress.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage Cross Product Team’s Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance
  • Experience using Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Experience with radar and/or sensor systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with application and execution of Raytheon’s Integrated Product Development System or similar business processes
  • Consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities
  • Experience in strategic development and / or contract capture in the Defense Industry
  • Ability to lead, along with peers, the development of long range plans to capitalize on future opportunities
  • Ability to manage diverse tasks, requirements and commitments and interface successfully with numerous disciplines
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and negotiate change
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comprehensive planning skills with the ability to analyze technical and financial data and reports Exceptional judgment and decision-making
  • Experience with Radar Sustainment Programs
  • Experience with Gate Reviews
  • Ability to interact with senior levels of leadership effectively – including customer, Raytheon, teammates, and suppliers
  • Experience as an IPT/CPT Lead
  • Experience with Engineering PMER, SBT and ELF tools
  • Knowledgeable of the Raytheon IDS business process used for proposals
  • Experience with Risk/Opportunity Management tools and processes
  • Detailed knowledge of IDS policies and procedures and organizational structure
  • Demonstrated broad-based technical background and troubleshooting and strong grasp of engineering fundamentals with comparable progression of management responsibilities
  • Past International support or site experience relating to systems and personnel deployment and sustainment
  • Current active US Secret Security Clearance

Required Education:
  • Bachelors’ degree in a STEM discipline
