Courtroom A/V Hardware Specialist

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • A/V technical liaison for all events to procure and satisfy client requirements. Effectively work with all contractors utilized for events coverage.
  • The Crestron Certified Programmer Courtroom AV/Hardware Specialist provides technician support and services for DOJ trials.
  • Communicating with team members to coordinate coverage for conference rooms.
  • Ensuring daily processes and procedures are followed for day-to-day operations
  • Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the A/V head-end control room, which include but not limited to proper wiring, room cleanliness, equipment & cable labeling, and ensuring a lucid interface to all A/V equipment. i.e Labeling equipment, Software upgrades, testing connections, breaking down and setting up equipment, loading and testing content.
  • Troubleshoot and address any AV operational issues when they arise and communicate with all stakeholders. Providing documentation to all A/V equipment and systems in addition to generating day-to-day checklists.
  • Oversee and maintain all conference rooms to ensure proper operation of all A/V related equipment. Providing A/V support when needed for meetings, conference calls, and events. Recommend and implement upgrades when appropriate. Ensure equipment interfaces are properly configured, operational, and labeled.
  • Working and communicating closely with the Technical Operations Director in conveying the status of current projects, specific issues, and ensuring proper A/V coverage of all events – conference rooms, and the main events space. Ensuring requirements, deadlines, and expectations are met as per the directives set forth by the Director and the event planners.
  • Operates as an independent resource providing support and services to the trail team, court and courthouse staff, court reporters, and opposing counsel to develop plans for equipping a courtroom for a “paperless trial.”
  • Surveys site, recommending appropriate equipment and software, taking into account courtroom layout and lighting, whatever equipment may already be available, requirements for cost sharing between the parties, requirements for portability, trial schedule, the preferences of the judge, etc.
  • Obtains, installs, integrates, tests, and maintains equipment, cabling, and software, particularly for complex installations.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

•Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.

•Demonstrated ability to develop and execute plans for setting up “paperless trial” courtrooms.

•Requires outstanding oral communications skills; for example, may be required to meet with the trial team, court reporters, opposing counsel, or the judge to discuss courtroom requirements, to explain clearly the capabilities and limitations of various equipment and distribution options, and to make a compelling case for the optimum solution.

•Needs to be able to anticipate in-courtroom problems with hardware and software so as to minimize their impact.

•Successful candidate must have a CTS-General certification and Crestron Certified Programmer-Gold level, with demonstrated proficiency with the Crestron Toolkit.

•Candidate must be thoroughly familiar with standard courtroom presentation software packages, such as Trial Director and Sanction.

•Must be thoroughly familiar with the state of the art in courtroom presentation hardware, distribution systems, techniques, and procedures.

High School Diploma and:

3 Or More Years Experience With-

• Live auditorium events

• Conference Room setups

• Audio mixers

• PTZ cameras

• A/V signal converters (Crestron/Extron)

• Large data projectors

• Control Systems (Crestron/AMX)

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• CTS Certification

• AMX/Crestron Programming
