Counterintelligence Analyst

We have an opening for a Counterintelligence (CI) Analyst to perform complex research, analysis, and production of finished CI products, including threat assessments and conducting interviews and ensuring Laboratory compliance with the Department of Energy (DOE) Order 475.1 (Counterintelligence program). You will outline and present recommendations to senior management, high-level DOE personnel and officials of intelligence community agencies on relevant CI issues. This position is in the Counterintelligence Program.

Essential Duties
- Conduct assessments for key operational processes and identifies improvement opportunities.
- Perform data extraction, reporting, and analysis to troubleshoot process problems and identify appropriate courses of action.
- Apply knowledge of administrative/operation and/or institutional policies, procedures, methods, and practices; monitors adherence to policies in support of a work unit/group; may lead implementation activities and monitor results.
- Plan and prepare relevant analysis to support the overall CI program mission.
- Conduct research into patterns and trends of hostile intelligence services, and makes recommendations to Counterintelligence Officers (CIOs) to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Ensure available databases are reviewed, evaluated, and utilized to produce relevant CI assessments.
- Perform analyses, as requested by the SCIO and CIOs.
- Collaborates effectively with other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in science, accounting, criminal justice, or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Core knowledge of and experience with a variety of analytical skills and the ability to communicate the results of analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and function as a representative of the SAFE/LLFO Program. 
- Familiarity with and experience using general business analysis techniques to support decisions.
- Ability to interact with senior management personnel, both internal and external to LLNL.
- Working knowledge of automated business tools/technologies and specialized applications; expert knowledge of MS Office applications; demonstrated ability to develop complex reports for use in management decision-making.
- Experience working independently and/or collaboratively on non-typical assignments using discretion, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to secure and maintain CI-scope polygraph.

Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of national security issues related to the CI community.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.  This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance:  This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at time of hire.  Also, you must have the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.  Please note that your current active Q or Top Secret clearance with DOE or another agency does not guarantee DOE SCI access approval; if you are denied access, you may be subject to reinvestigation of your existing Q or Top Secret clearance.
