Correspondence Technician

Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is seeking a Correspondence Technician to support an DoD/IC customer by applying strong organizational, communication and support skills working within the communications and administrative management specialty with an emphasis on planning, organizing and controlling multiple efforts comprising related projects, documents and packets in support of the government program manager in a complex intelligence community collection activity. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • This person will ensure consistency of expression, logical organization and development, readability, appropriate formatting, and conformity of grammar and style to DoD standards of all documents under their control. They shall also comply with Security Markings Program classification/declassification markings procedures and other relevant standards.
  • Receive and review packets for signature and routing within (DO) Directorate for Operations. Ensure documents are consistent with DO formats and review for logical, concisely written text.
  • Utilize Correspondence Guide for all packet documents.
  • Edit and make corrections; work with document originators to make corrections and adjustments based on leadership feedback and proper formats.
  • Log and track progress of packets as they are routed for review, approval and signature. Save copies of documents in shared files.
  • Compile packets for review and approval. Draft memos and other required documents, depending on type of request, per Correspondence Guide.Ensure consistency of expression, logical organization and development, readability, appropriate formatting and conformity of grammar and style to customer standards.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of experience in administrative or operational support (Collection Management, Targeting, Desk Officer, etc.) to Government agencies- Intelligence Agencies or the Department of Defense strongly preferred; OR 5 years of experience in administrative or intelligence operations support to Intelligence Agencies or Department of Defense.
  • An Active Top Secret is Required.  Must be SCI eligible and eligible for a CI Poly.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience writing and editing documents.
  • Must be proactive individual with an innate ability to work and execute with limited guidance.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, conflict resolution techniques and proven ability to perform under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Solid writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple efforts to create timely, high quality deliverables.
  • Ability to work within a diverse group of stakeholders to accomplish mission goals.
  • Direct and current knowledge of the mission, structure and key intelligence programs of the Intelligence Community.
