Configuration Management Team Lead

The Configuration Management and Data Management (CMDM) Directorate is responsible for ensuring control and consistency of the system’s requirements, functional attributes and physical properties. We provide support for technical data where the main disciplines are configuration management and data management. We follow the basic principles of Configuration Management for planning, identification, control, verification and audits. CM establishes and maintains the integrity of the products for the program through the entire life-cycle of all products.

The Configuration Management Directorate is seeking to fill a position for NISSC program Configuration Management Lead. The NISSC program provide sustainment and enhancements for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex. This position will serve as the lead to establish the blueprint for the control of program technical data (including change management) and environment that supports the design, implementation, sustainment, and operations teams. The CM lead establishes the approach, process, tools and training for the control of program work products to ensure the integrity of the system baseline.

The candidate for this position will work with the program team, infrastructure, software, systems, IT and Delivery Order leads to establish and optimize the CM system, work environment and workflows for the program. The lead must account for all phases of the product lifecycle including identification of constraints, control points, tool selection/configuration and customizations as well as metrics definition/analysis. Documentation and training is essential; the perfect CM architecture is useless if not expressed understandably. US Citizenship is required due to the candidate needing to have a current Secret Security Clearance.


Required Skills:

•8+ years of Engineering related experience to include Configuration and Data Management within DoD or other government agencies

•Full Systems Level knowledge of Configuration and Data Management

•Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors

•Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with individuals with varied background to negotiate compromises to enable the identification of a common concept of operations

•Ability to inspire confidence in technical approaches with in-depth domain expertise and clear, persuasive communications

•Demonstrated ability to work independently; a highly motivated self-starter, including ability for sound decision making and creative problem solving to pursue the necessary course of action

•Demonstrated business acumen; capable of balancing engineering rigor with affordability and schedule constraints

•5+ year’s experience in using tools and metrics to manage development and change activity (ClearCase®, ClearQuest®, DOORS®, PDM/PLM or similar suite of tools, Application Lifecycle Management tools such as Rational Team Concert, Team Foundation Server and JIRA / GIT)

•Experience working on large SW intensive contracts that include a large number of COTS products

-Current US Secret Security Clearance and US Citizenship required


Desired Skills:


•Industry recognized Configuration Management certification that promotes integrated CM
Expertise with IBM Rational Application Lifecycle Management tools including; Rational Team Concert (RTC), Rational Quality Manager and Rational DOORs


Required Education:

•Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related work experience required; professional related experience considered in lieu of degree; Master's degree preferred in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or other related degree.
